About This Site

Mila the Cake shop has been open since 2008 and was the dream-child of Pastry Chef & Owner Louise Veldhuizen. After working at Meerendal Wine Estate for two years with chef Wade van der Merwe, Louise moved to London; and under the guidance chef Eric Landlard, Louise perfected her skills in creating cakes and desserts fit for a king. A small trip to Spain inspired & infused the idea of a cake shop, and so the Mila came to South Africa. Since January 2018 Mila is operating as a online shop.
